Celebrating Chol Chnam Thmay in 2023
To celebrate the 48th anniversary of the liberation of the South and reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2023) and to mark the Chol Chnam Thmay traditional New Year, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tra Vinh province held a meeting on April 7 to celebrate Chol Chnam Thmay in 2023.

Before attending the meeting, provincial leaders, monks, nuns, and other attendees burnt incense and laid wreaths at Uncle Ho's Temple and the martyrs' cemetery to pay tribute to Uncle Ho's merits and heroic martyrs' sacrifices.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Kim Ngoc Thai, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Lam Minh Dang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Le Van Dau, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; as well as representatives of leaders of departments, agencies, and monks, nuns, and other attendees.

During the meeting, the delegates had the opportunity to meet, visit, and congratulate each other. The meeting was also a chance to review the tradition of fighting against foreign invaders and the tradition of uniting the Kinh and Khmer peoples.

Last year, the Khmer people continued to enjoy many programs and policies implemented by the Party and State in education, healthcare, and material and spiritual life. The Party committees and authorities at all levels have also implemented many solutions to direct the integration of programs and projects that are quite comprehensive and effective, creating positive changes and profoundly changing the face of the people in ethnic minority areas. The material and spiritual life of the Khmer people has gradually improved.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Han acknowledged the efforts and valuable contributions of the Khmer people's leaders, officers, and soldiers of the province in recent years. He called on the monks, compatriots, officers, and soldiers of the Khmer in the province to continue promoting the tradition of patriotism and national unity, upholding the will to self-reliance, and strengthening the practice of thrift against waste to concentrate resources for socio-economic development.

He also urged them to continue implementing policies for the Khmer ethnic people while promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's thoughts, morality, and style to improve the material and spiritual life of the people. They must increase revolutionary vigilance, resolutely struggle, maintain political security, social order, and safety and launch exciting emulation movements to successfully carry out socio-economic development tasks in 2023, contributing to building Tra Vinh province more rich, beautiful, and civilized.
